Create a bypass channel at Sundridge weir for fish passage
Description:
Sundridge Weir was a total barrier to fish migration. In 2015/16 South East Rivers Trust gained funding (£31k) from Defra's Catchment Partnership Action Fund and worked in partnership with North West Kent Countryside Partnership to deliver a nature like bypass channel. The project also addressed surface water flooding issues within the village of Sundridge by providing two swales that diverted surface water off the road, preventing it from entering neighbouring properties as had occurred on a number of occasions previously.
